LE VINTAGE ET LA MODE
THE BEST OF PARISIAN FASHION WITH LOCALERS
The French seem to possess an innate ability to dress well. So how do they do it?
From January 2017, Christian Lacroix designed Hotel du Petit Moulin – Le Marais’ most fashionable boutique hotel – is making the most of its fashion credentials and prime shopping location with new personal fashion tours in collaboration with Localers – the tailor-made tour company.
Guests will be able to explore the best independent boutiques and vintage shops in the winding streets of Le Marais, right on the hotel’s doorstep, in a one-on-one personal shopping experience led by an expert fashionista. The three-hour tour will uncover the tips and tricks of how to shop like a Parisian, reveal the best new designers, and unearth the secrets of vintage treasure hunting at some of Europe’s best treasure troves - so often missed by the untrained shopper.
Localers was founded to provide unique and authentic tours, and real insights into Paris and the French culture. All tours are created from the ground up by a team of local experts whose mission is to allow tourists to discover Paris through the eyes of the locals, without the clichés and constraints of regular touring. Their personalised fashion tours can be customised to the area, budget and style of the guest, for the most exclusive of experiences.
Set in the heart of the capital’s trendiest district, Hotel du Petit Moulin is one of the quirkiest spots in the city: the building was once home to Paris’ first bakery – with the original shop frontage remaining. With 17 rooms and suites all brilliantly designed by Christian Lacroix, the hotel is now a fashion masterpiece in its own right. Some rooms are bright and colourful, others more understated; all are totally theatrical and tell a different story of the Marais.
Combining a deeply comfortable overnight stay with a chance to dig deeper into the local fashion scene, this is a totally new take on a shopping weekend in Paris.
Stays from €443 based on two sharing an overnight stay on a B&B basis, with a three-hour personal shopping tour of Le Marais. Subject to availability. Must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance.
